First Iocore-developed products on its new Web site

Johannesburg, 07 Jun 2001

Leading IT services company, Iocore, has launched a new Web site aimed at better servicing the local market and providing a platform for marketing products designed by its own development team.

"Until now, we have `piggy-backed` on the Web site of the global group of IT services companies, all operating under the IOCORE banner," explains Wade Gomes, managing director of Iocore. Spanning Africa, Europe and Asia Pacific, Iocore`s global operations are run from offices in Belgium/Luxembourg, the Netherlands, France, SA, Finland, Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Australia.

"However, I believe the time is ripe to use the Web more effectively for virtual marketing of our own, strongly Southern African focus," he says.

With a string of successes in implementing and adding value to some of the world`s leading standards-based technology platforms, strategic partnerships have been key to Iocore`s rapid growth in the South African market for competitive IT solutions. Iocore enjoys close alliances with major companies such as Oracle SA, Microsoft SA, SAP and Sun Microsystems, Computer Associates and Veritas, among others.

"In addition to achievements with these partner products, we are now also ready to take our own developments to market," notes Gomes.

"One of the major strengths within Iocore has been our strong development skills, which we have put to good use in developing customised solutions for any number of clients in the corporate sector," he says.

"Inevitably, this has resulted in the development of products that are marketable in their own right - and we will be making an announcement in this regard shortly."

The first such packaged solution to come out of Iocore`s stable, developed over recent months for a major blue-chip client, will have the backing of Oracle South Africa, he confirms. Iocore was the first South African company to be appointed an Oracle applications reseller and was recently named Oracle Implementation Partner of the year for the second consecutive year.

"Final negotiations are furthermore underway which will enable us to market this product via resellers."

Iocore was recently also one of only three South African Oracle resellers to be appointed an Oracle partner for its revolutionary, new FastForward offering, which provides small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with an opportunity to quickly implement comprehensive e-business solutions at predictable costs.

"We will also be using the Web to actively market our capabilities in this regard," says Gomes.

Iocore`s new Web site at www.iocore.co.za has been designed by one of its own business units, Iocore Interactive.
