Acer has launched two new flexible, upgradable and manageable office PCs designed to meet the high-performance computing requirements of today`s - and tomorrow`s - businesses.
According to Christine Botha, PC product manager at Acer in SA, the new AcerPower models are packed with the fastest Intel Pentium III processors, superior graphics and video capabilities - and the option to expand - to get the job done quickly or easily.
"Networked or standalone, the AcerPower 4400 and AcerPower 8400, are well suited for all business environments and can handle all business applications from inventory processing, invoicing, accounting and correspondence to the occasional design work," she says.
"AcerPower`s PIII processor reduces lead time, propelling data, graphics, video, imaging and audio content at speeds up to 1GHz. In addition, Acer - the world`s third largest PC manufacturer - ensures the processor communicates with system memory at top speed by employing an industry-leading 133MHz system bus. "In addition, the new AcerPowers` chipset provides high-performance bandwidth and system control for upcoming advances in VGA, processor, memory module and audio technology, saving time, cost, and keeping the systems fit for tomorrow."
The AcerPower 4400`s compact, yet expandable desktop system case integrates easily into office environments, providing adequate containment and ventilation for all system components. The low-profile system case provides up to four available bays for the addition of drives and storage devices while its towerable footing base offers conventional or upright system placement for workspace convenience.
The minitower AcerPower 8400 includes up to five bays for the addition of drives and storage devices. Both models are geared to meet the multimedia demands of today`s businesses, with the 4400 featuring optional internal speakers which can be adjusted from a button on the front of the casing.
AcerPower`s choice of 2X/4X graphics adapters provides high-performance graphics and video. The 2X/4X APG-supported Acer TNT2-16 graphics adapter, with 16MB dedicated video RAM, powers performance-hungry design work and imaging. In addition, AcerPower`s embedded PCI audio controls deliver clear and professional results on audio playback, sound capture, and voice mail.
"Acer has also included the very latest management and recovery software to significantly reduce system downtime.
"Having a quick-response plan to operating system problems is key to reducing downtime. Acer TimeMachine eliminates the impact of virtually all operating system dangers by returning the AcerPower system to a former problem-free configuration in as little as five minutes.
