Fortune magazine ranks SAP among top three most admired computer software companies in America

Walldorf, Germany, 06 Mar 2006

Fortune magazine has ranked SAP AG, the world's leading provider of business software solutions, number three in the computer software category in Fortune's annual ranking of America's Most Admired Companies. The entire list of rankings is posted on www.fortune.com and appears in the 6 March 2006 print issue of Fortune.

According to Fortune, the most admired companies are those known for high-quality products and services, driving innovation, effectively managing talent, delivering consistent returns to shareholders, and demonstrating social responsibility. Fortune's annual list of "America's Most Admired Companies" is based on a survey of the top managers and analysts representing 582 companies across 65 industries. Participants are asked to rate companies in their respective industries based on eight attributes: innovation, employee talent, use of corporate assets, social responsibility, quality of management, financial soundness, long-term investment and quality of products/services.

With an overall score of 7.28, SAP achieved especially high ratings in innovation, employee talent, social responsibility and quality of products and services. "The Fortune ranking serves as validation that our organic growth strategy and road map for innovation are boosting not only our US market share but also our reputation with investors, customers, partners and our employees themselves," said Henning Kagermann, CEO, SAP AG.

"The distinctions that SAP is increasingly receiving from renowned publications around the world are recognition of SAP's continuing commitment to product excellence, superior service and customer satisfaction worldwide."

International recognition for a best-run business

The Fortune recognition is one of several awards SAP recently has received for being a best-run company and a great place to work. Germany's Manager magazine, in its "Image Profile 2006" study, ranked SAP as having the best image and reputation among computer and software companies, and it ranked SAP's image among the 10 best for all companies worldwide. In 2006, for the second year in a row, the Great Place to Work Institute and Capital magazine named SAP as Germany's best employer in the category of companies with more than 5 000 employees.

The Great Place to Work Institute also recognised SAP in Latin America and India. In Latin America, the institute this year named three SAP subsidiaries - SAP Mexico, SAP Chile and SAP Andean and Caribbean - among its top 10 best places to work in each of those respective regions. This is the fourth consecutive year that the three subsidiaries have been ranked on the institute's best places to work list. The institute also recognised SAP Labs India as "Recruiting and Staffing Best in Class" in 2006 for using innovative practices in workforce management and planning.
