Foster-Melliar introduces answer to effective Change Management

Johannesburg, 16 Oct 2006

The ripple effect that change has on an organisation has the power to positively infuse the affected candidates, but also has the potential to cripple an organisation if ill-conceived. Managing change is critical in any organisation.

The new Change Management Practitioner course offered by Foster-Melliar not only provides candidates with a sound understanding of the underlying documented process that forms the back-bone of a good change management program, but also arms the learner with practical knowledge on how to effectively implement the program within the organisation.

"The need for a structured and disciplined process to introduce change is now more critical than ever before," says David Anderson, MD of Foster-Melliar. "This course will guide the Service Manager and those working in Change Management through the processes involved in setting up and maintaining the Change Management discipline within the organisation to achieve the goal with minimal disruption," explains David.

"The qualification covers the Service Management discipline of Change Management as described in the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Service Support book," says David. "It also covers ITIL Service Management principles in general and highlights the interdependencies between these and Change Management," explains David.

"Upon completion of the course, the candidate will understand the intricacies involved in implementing a successful Change Management process in addition to receiving practical hands on training on how to assess and prioritise changes," says David. "Experienced tutors share practical knowledge and experience with delegates by means of case study based training to make it practical and not text book-driven," adds Anderson.

"The Change Management Practitioner course will reduce or minimise the negative effects that change has on an organisation in addition to reducing the amount of corrections made in the aftermath of a change," says David. "It allows the organisation to realistically cost potential changes further enhanced by less down time for business users. Furthermore the IT Personnel are able to be more productive and proactive due to the managed environment," says David.

The training course is aimed at Change Managers, Change Co-ordinators or administrators and anyone working actively within the change process.
