Foster-Melliar makes quality ITIL ITSM training accessible on tight budgets

Johannesburg, 12 May 2005

Foster-Melliar has launched a `HOT SEAT` training programme in a bid to make quality ITIL and ITSM training available to delegates working on tight budgets. ITIL training and certification is becoming an increasingly `in demand qualification` but for many IT professionals it is simply out of reach if employers do not contribute to the training costs.

Foster-Melliar`s HOT SEATS brings quality ITIL ITSM training within reach even on tight budgetary constraints. HOT SEATS are allocated when last minute vacancies arise on scheduled courses, but individuals need to act fast. HOT SEATS offer delegates up to 35% off standard course prices.

"Training and certification is costly but invaluable when it comes to advancing your career within the IT industry. The programme makes quality, internationally accredited ITIL training accessible to as wide an audience as possible. Without a doubt training can put an individual on a successful career path and make a significant difference to their overall future in the corporate marketplace, however, we realise that for many the costs are simply too prohibitive," says David Anderson, CEO of Foster-Melliar.

Foster-Melliar pioneered ITIL ITSM locally, bringing it to the South African IT industry in 1994. The company is black owned, accredited with the ISEB UK and Services SETA and boasts having trained the top ITIL ITSM Managers student in southern Africa for the past nine years, as recognised by the ITSMFSA.

"In an industry fraught with fly-by-night IT training providers and consultants, Foster-Melliar`s international accreditation guarantees our students training against the highest standards which is recognised worldwide. Proof of the quality of our training is the growing inroads into international markets, especially with multinationals.

"Global businesses find South African expertise not only matching, if not exceeding world standards, but also far more cost-effective. We have developed a winning combination of global best practices combined with proven South African expertise and this is delivering benefits to clients locally and offshore," adds Anderson.

Foster-Melliar has exported its ITIL ITSM training offering to clients in the UK, Brazil, North America, Australia and Africa. "The training is just one aspect of the journey. We strive to take our students beyond the achievement of a qualification by empowering them with the knowledge that they can immediately implement in their work environment," says Anderson.
