Xantium Technology Holdings Limited has acquired a 100 percent stake in Foster-Melliar, creating the only Black empowered ITIL IT Service Management training and consulting provider in South Africa accredited with The Information Systems Examination Board in the UK.. Xantium Technology Holdings is 35 percent Black owned with 68 percent Black control.
This effectively creates an end-to-end IT service provider by combining Foster-Melliar`s ITIL expertise and Xantium`s IT service offerings to provide customers with a means to aligning IT capability to meet business objectives. Foster-Melliar will focus on growing its presence in the public sector as government exerts increasing pressure on departments to ensure people, process and technology methodologies are in place to better service their constituencies.
"The acquisition is a great win for both companies. By exploring the synergies of these two businesses, together we have effectively created South Africa`s only Black empowered ITIL training company with a solid ITIL consulting skills base that is well known in corporate circles. The service offerings of our two companies are highly complementary and by offering clients a combined package of ITIL training and consulting with related services such as enterprise and people change management, clients can make very real progress towards achieving world-class IT efficiency standards," says David Anderson, CEO of Foster-Melliar.
James Murray, CEO of Xantium Technology Holdings adds: "Best practice IT process is finally gaining recognition at executive management levels. Worldwide companies have spent enormous amounts of money on technical tools that have not achieved the desired business value. CIOs are under huge pressure from executive management to show measurable return on investment from their IT spend. This value can only be achieved once repeatable processes are implemented to create a staff culture that revolves around a shared service ethic. Xantium Professional Services (XPS) has based its business model on the ability to successfully combine people, process and technology skills in the Enterprise Management arena."
Foster-Melliar`s David Anderson adds that the new entity is well positioned to deliver seamless, IT services that drive business processes. "Gartner predicts that businesses that understand how to generate real business advantage from fusing technology, business process design and business relationships will outperform those that do not by at least 15% per year. We believe our merged business is well positioned to provide customers with the knowledge and ability to achieve this competitive advantage," concludes David
