Free online CobiT Foundation course sparks interest

Johannesburg, 20 Mar 2007

After just three weeks since it was first announced, the free online CobiT Foundation Course has been well received.

Peter Hill, Info Sec Africa's managing director, says the response so far has exceeded expectations. Over 750 people have visited the Web site to find out more about the CobiT Foundation Seminars now available at no cost.

Hill says people interviewed have indicated having a free CobiT Foundation Seminar is a great idea. Individuals are now able to develop a good foundation in the CobiT 4.0 framework in their own time and at no cost to their employer.

As the global leader in providing CobiT training, Info Sec Africa introduced the free online education to ensure there is a consistent understanding developed about the CobiT framework.

Hill says from the results so far, a number of participants have been surprised to find their knowledge about CobiT isn't as thorough as expected. Everyone using CobiT should take the free course to test their knowledge and learn from the gaps in their knowledge.

Now that companies can educate their entire staff at no cost, Hill expects many companies will take advantage of the Learning Management System available to track their staff development. He says companies can nominate a training officer to receive information about the progress of all their staff with the CobiT training.

Anyone thinking of taking the ISACA Foundation examination will find the free online education to be an easily accessible and a useful way to check that they are ready and able to pass this exam.

More information about the free online education as well as the regular CobiT seminar schedule can be found at www.cobit.co.za.
