FrontRange Solutions` HEAT ranked market leader by independent research firm

FrontRange Solutions applications have come out strongly in Forrester Research`s Wave report for the first quarter of 2006.

The Q1 2006 Service Desk Forrester Wave report cited FrontRange`s HEAT as a Leader/Strong Performer in the SME Service Desk market - the strongest of 12 solutions in its strategy for SME tools. FrontRange`s modular IT Service Management (ITSM) product was rated as a Strong Performer for Large Enterprise Tools.

Similar to Gartner`s former Magic Quadrant (last updated in 2004), this ranking from Forrester is an in-depth analysis of vendor tools over five categories: surveys, product demos, executive briefings, customer reference calls and Forrester client reference calls.

"FrontRange is taking the strong market presence gained with its HEAT product and is expanding upmarket with its modular IT Service Management (ITSM) offering," writes Chip Gliedman, vice-president in the IT Management & Services research team for Forrester Research, Inc.

"First released in early 2005, FrontRange ITSM is gaining functionality and customers although there are very few sites that are fully deployed. HEAT, with its large installed base, is still targeted at the smaller to mid-market and is appropriate for organisations looking for a solution that is easy to deploy and maintain. These customers can now expand HEAT functionality in required areas with the addition of ITSM product modules. One HEAT customer we talked to is doing just that - adding ITSM asset and change management to its HEAT installation."

Forrester evaluated FrontRange`s current offering and strategy for service desk management tools against 80 criteria. Overall, HEAT is a strong offering that can be implemented in just a few weeks.

Released at the beginning of 2005, FrontRange ITSM is the company`s offering for larger organisations. During the first 10 months on the market, FrontRange has sold ITSM to about 100 organisations, 30 of which are currently up and running. ITSM is built in a modular fashion, embracing the ITIL process model and its structure.

Says FrontRange chief executive Michael McCloskey: "FrontRange was able to grow total licence revenues during FY05 by more than 22% over the prior year, and we believe our unique offerings are allowing us to increase market share. Our performance in the Forrester report establishes us as a market leader."
