Fujifilm scores 3D first

Fujifilm recently added another feather to its cap with the unveiling of the FinePix Real 3D W3 camera - the world's first 3D imaging system, writes Sun2Surf.

The system allows users to shoot, view and print what the company says are realistic 3D photos. The camera also features what it claims is the world's first twin lenses and twin sensors that capture high-definition 3D movies.

The 3D movies and photos can be viewed without 3D glasses and can even be viewed while shooting on the LCD screen.

HP rolls out major hardware line

HP has rolled out a major update to its printing and imaging hardware line, covering enterprise markets ranging from home and small businesses to large-scale and specialised printing systems, according to V3.

The low-end OfficeJet 6500A All-in-one system sports a 2.5-inch colour touch-screen display, while the LaserJetPro CM1415fnw multi-function model can print images from the Web or over mobile devices.

For larger enterprises, HP has updated its LaserJet and ScanJet lines.

Konica Minolta to sell plate business

Konica Minolta Graphic Imaging will sell its offset printing plate business, including subsidiary American Lithoplate, to Southern Lithoplate, says American Printer.

The anticipated closing is scheduled for 1 October and the decision to sell was based on the long-term strategy of Konica Minolta Medical and Graphic.

Kazuhiko Fukushima, president and CEO of Konica Minolta Graphic Imaging, says, the company “has a longstanding tradition and heritage in the prepress and printing supply business”.
