Fujitsu Siemens Computers in association with EMC Corporation has rolled out the next-generation, full 2Gb FibreCAT CX networked storage family with the introduction of the FibreCAT CX200 system. The FibreCAT CX200 brings high functionality and leading performance to smaller organisations in the entry-level storage market.
From branch office to data centre, the FibreCAT CX family offers a full range of networked storage options, while delivering maximised customer value and flexibility through a single deployment model, unified storage management strategy, common architecture and end-to-end upgrade path - preserving customer investments in hardware, software, training and processes. The new FibreCAT CX200 storage solution will be available through Fujitsu Siemens Computers` enterprise channel partners.
Joining the recently announced FibreCAT CX600 and CX400 systems, the CX200 is optimised for smaller organisations looking for a cost-effective, entry-level solution that provides a clear and strategic upgrade path to meet future growth requirements.
The CX200 provides the ease of set-up, configuration and management that smaller customers demand - packaged in the industry`s most compact and innovative modular design. As application or IT Infrastructure consolidation requirements expand, customers can leverage FibreCAT`s unique modularity and common reusable components to seamlessly upgrade, through a simple storage processor swap, with data-in-place, to the CX400 or CX600 networked storage systems.
The FibreCAT CX200 delivers 25 000 I/Os per second of throughput and 200MB per second of bandwidth in cached environments.
As the third member of the FibreCAT CX family, the CX200 shares a common architecture, components and FLARE operating environment within the CX series while maintaining tight management integration with the CX400, CX600 and prior FibreCAT generations. The CX200 incorporates the following powerful and easy-to-use storage software applications: Navisphere Web-based, remote management; PowerPath channel failover and intelligent path management; Access Logix for secure, shared or selective server access.
FibreCAT CX200 supports various operating systems that are available on Fujitsu Siemens Computers` PRIMERGY server line such as Windows 2000 and Linux Redhat Advanced Servers. FibreCAT CX200 is particularly well positioned when Intel-based server brands other than PRIMERGY are to be connected to the storage system.
