Fujitsu Siemens Computers broadens service capability with appointment of new service partners

Johannesburg, 08 Jul 2005

The massive market growth achieved by Fujitsu Siemens Computers since entering the South African market in April 2000 has necessitated the recruitment of additional service partners.

Alan Milne, Service Manager at Fujitsu Siemens Computers, says: "We identified the need to broaden our service footprint and to ensure our customers have a wider range of support options."

Milne recently embarked on an aggressive service partner recruitment drive.

"Increased pressure and demand on our existing service infrastructure led to the requirement to appoint several new service partners. We were thorough in our selection of these service partners, as we need to ensure the integrity and reputation of our brand. We have also bolstered the logistics and support infrastructure underlying our service partners with the appointment of Service Parts Logistics (SPL). They will hold stock of parts and will ensure timeous delivery of these to our respective service partners."

One of the new service partners, Independent Computer Support Services (I-CSS), was selected due to its excellent reputation, its national footprint, and the accessibility of its "walk-in" centres. Its recent acquisition of ERS makes I-CSS the biggest bench network of carry-in service and repair centres in the country.

Customers in Bloemfontein have the option of using the services of either Solo Office Art or I-CSS.

In George and the Garden Route, customers can use the services of Let Me Repair (LMR), which uses the European model of centralised repair. This means it arranges courier collection of the computer, service and repair it at a centralised location, and then return it once repaired.

Fujitsu Siemens Computers ran an accredited technical training course for all these service partners, and they are all certified as training partners for the entire Fujitsu Siemens Computers product range. The service partners are all able to offer an exclusive range of value-added services ranging from carry-in, collect and return, and on-site services and are able to enter into service level agreements with end customers.
