Does your current notebook leave you feeling the need for speed? Fujitsu Siemens Computers new Lifebook S6410 provides mach-3 performance while delivering mobile users even more reliability, connectivity and independence.
Enhancing the already high standards of the company's professional notebook series, the new 13.3-inch notebook with Intel Centrino Duo processor technology weighs a mere 1.7kg and has a battery life of up to one working day.
The Lifebook S6410 leads in connectivity - offering mobile Internet access, anytime, anywhere via embedded UMTS/HSUPA. It will be available from July.
Market research from IDC predicts that within two years, one quarter of all employees will no longer be sitting in a conventional office workplace, with the number of mobile workers soaring to 850 million by 2009.[1]
The new Lifebook S6410 is optimised to meet the needs of this growing segment. Weighing just 1.7kg, it is the lightest 13.3-inch notebook with a modular bay on the market. Intel Centrino Duo processor technology with the Intel 965GM chipset enables efficient multi-tasking and substantially boosts productivity.
Thanks to Intel's Turbo Memory function, long delays while waiting for a notebook to boot are a thing of the past, while high-speed Internet access with the Lifebook S6410 is assured by integrated WLAN and Bluetooth, as well as UMTS/HSUPA. HSUPA allows download speeds of up to 7.2MBit/s and upload speeds of 1.4MBit/s. The integrated ConfCamera means that the S6410 is ideally suited to videoconferencing.
Enhanced security features
When designing the Lifebook S6410, Fujitsu Siemens Computers placed particular emphasis on the high security standards needed for mobile working, and a biometric fingerprint sensor is installed as standard. And, since a notebook that is carried around everywhere comes in for its fair share of knocks, the Lifebook S6410 not only comes with a magnesium housing, but also boasts a spill-proof keyboard that prevents water from seeping into the system and allows enough time for the user to shut down safely in case of a spillage.
In addition, a ShockSensor protects the hard disk from vibration or shock, and the RecoveryButton averts loss of data.
EcoButton saves energy, prolongs battery life
One of the notebook's outstanding features is the length of time it can run without external power.
With an optional second battery and using the integrated EcoButton, the Lifebook S6410 can run for a full working day.
Pressing the EcoButton reduces the clock frequency of the processor and the screen brightness, thereby increasing battery life by another 10%.
