Fujitsu Siemens Computers receives SAP Pinnacle Award 2003 for Adaptive Computing

Just prior to SAPPHIRE `04 in New Orleans (May 11th - 13th, 2004), Fujitsu Siemens Computers - jointly with Network Appliance - received the SAP Pinnacle Award 2003 for the innovative IT Infrastructure solution "FlexFrame for mySAP Business Suite". In the category "Special Achievement - Adaptive Computing", both partners were honoured for their contribution to innovation in Adaptive Computing as a capability of SAP NetWeaverTM.

More than two years ago Fujitsu Siemens Computers and SAP combined forces to work on a joint project focusing on the next generation of SAP solution environments. The challenge was clear: reduce complexity, reduce Total Cost of Ownership, and increase flexibility as well as high availability and scalability. The FlexFrame for mySAP Business Suite IT Infrastructure solution is the first realisation of SAP`s Adaptive Computing capabilities.

Next step was to present the proof of concept of these results on a Fujitsu Siemens Computers platform at SAPPHIRE Orlando in 2003 At SAPPHIRE `04 - almost exactly one year later - Adaptive Computing has been shown as a "productised" capability of SAP NetWeaver. Additionally, Fujitsu Siemens Computers is the first SAP Partner to have successfully passed SAP`s "Adaptive Computing Compliance Test" with this solution. Now with this award in 2004 SAP has honoured Fujitsu Siemens Computers as the first adaptor of the SAP Adaptive Computing concept. Fujitsu Siemens Computers is highly committed to support SAP`s Adaptive Computing concept further and to stay an innovative driver and innovator for it.

The "SAP Pinnacle Award" is the global partner excellence award which recognizes SAP services, technology and software partners who have excelled in developing their partnership with SAP. This award goes to partners who have shown their excellence through collaboration and cooperation in sales, marketing, development, and innovation through joint initiatives and programs.

FlexFrame for my SAP Business Suite is the IT Infrastructure realization of SAP Adaptive Computing capabilities and a joint project of the technology partners Fujitsu Siemens Computers and Network Appliance. The Total Cost of Ownership of the entire IT-landscape can be significantly lowered by reduced efforts for company internal integration. With this, companies are enabled to pursue a growth strategy and to adapt on changes in their business environment.

SAP NetWeaver Adaptive Computing capabilities and its IT infrastructure realization with FlexFrame for mySAP Business Suite aims at significantly higher flexibility at the IT infrastructure side to ease the implementation and operation of business applications and to reduce operating costs. Improved results are realised through a full virtualisation of SAP applications and the separation of those services from the infrastructure resources computing, network, storage and control / system management. Those infrastructure resources are delivered by following innovative principles of autonomous systems with features such as virtualisation and automatic provisioning.
