Fujitsu Siemens Computers, the leading European IT manufacturer and German market leader, today introduced the smallest member of its new ESPRIMO professional PC line.
With a volume of only eight litres, the ultra-small form factor ESPRIMO C5900 is not only the most compact in its class, it also offers extensive security options as well as an integrated power supply. Equipped with the latest Fujitsu Siemens Computers Green PC technology and a range of slots for flexible connectivity, both trademarks of ESPRIMO professional PCs, the new compact model is based on the Intel 915GV chipset.
The ESPRIMO C is powerful, quiet and secure, and takes up very little space. This makes it an ideal workplace PC for large enterprises, government offices and branch offices. Typical deployment scenarios include open-plan offices or front-office settings such as bank counters or any space-constrained environment. To safeguard sensitive data even in unprotected environments, Fujitsu Siemens Computers has equipped the ESPRIMO C for optional security features such as a SmartCard reader and an intrusion switch, which alerts the administrator if the cabinet is opened.

The ESPRIMO product line
The ESPRIMO C is the most recent ESPRIMO professional PC model to be introduced by Fujitsu Siemens Computers. Manufactured in Augsburg, Germany, the new series delivers the latest in cutting-edge technology for professional users - all in an environmentally conscious package. All lines of the new ESPRIMO global brand, developed together with Fujitsu Ltd, come in a modular design for easy upgrading. The ESPRIMO P5905 microtower has been available since May as part of the Intel Stable Image Platform Program. The ESPRIMO E Series, the new small form factor PCs for standard applications, are the quietest in their class, available since June.
Modular system design
Fujitsu Siemens Computers has been building upon the proven strengths of its personal computers to offer a flexible configuration system. Depending on their requirements, customers can choose between standard PCs, special features such as enhanced security and performance, and long-availability configurations. In any case, every system can be flexibly upgraded, and that means added investment protection.
Ergonomics and the environment
All professional PCs from Fujitsu Siemens Computers will comply with RoHS six months before the stringent new set of EU guidelines restricting the use of hazardous substances goes into effect in mid-2006. Lead content in the mainboards has already been reduced from around 12 grams to only one gram, and the printed circuit board is halogen-free. As mentioned, ergonomics has also been enhanced, and the advanced cooling concept used in all ESPRIMO PCs makes them even quieter for a better (and more productive) work environment.
Xheads = Lifecycle management and serviceability
The enhanced cabinet design means increased possibilities when it comes to servicing and upgrading ESPRIMO Professional PCs, while the ManageIT and SecureIT software suites ensure secure and trouble-free operation. What`s more, lifecycles of up to 18 months are achievable due to stable configurations and components as well as the Intel Stable Image Platform Program.
