Fulcrum Business Solutions has not only successfully positioned itself as SA`s leading Microsoft Enterprise Project Management (EPM) solution provider, but is the only EPM provider that has established a full training facility to deliver EPM and EPM-related training.
Following its winning recipe of high-impact instructor-led courses, Fulcrum has now launched a series of master classes to enhance its existing offering.
The four-hour master classes include:
* Portfolio analysis using the EPM Portfolio Analyzer. This session focuses on the advanced functionality available for project portfolio management, and highlights the various elements within the Portfolio Analyzer to create powerful charts and pivot tables to reflect project performance measures.
* Earned value analysis in EPM. The workshop provides an overview of what Earned Value is and how the Microsoft Office Project environment calculates these measures. It also includes focus on exporting timescaled earned value data into Microsoft Office Excel and graphic elements such as s-curves.
* Managing resources in EPM. Resource management in EPM entails successful resource levelling and using tools such as the Resource Substitution Wizard to ease the burden of project managers and resource managers to balance enterprise resources. This workshop provides an in-depth look at these features in EPM.
* Pert Analysis in EPM. This detailed workshop focuses on using Pert Analysis as an estimation technique to get to accurate durations within the project schedule.
* Working with Master- and Subprojects in EPM. During this master class attention will be focused on working with master- and subprojects in an EPM environment. Specific attention is paid to establishing cross-project dependencies, working with calendars, calculated fields and other custom elements, and the correct baselining and updating principles.
These workshops are designed for users that have completed the basic Microsoft Office Project and Microsoft Project Web Access training and would like to take the use of the EPM toolset to an advanced level.
"The new workshops have been introduced due to local demand for increased classroom training options. However, this trend is in line with international market needs, seen from surveys such as a survey conducted by the Centre for Business Practices (www.cbponline.com) where results showed that 57% of organisation contract their project management training initiatives to private training consultancies," explains Lyzette Lourens, Manager: Training Services at Fulcrum.
In addition to the abovementioned offerings, a need has also been identified in the market to enhance project communities` effectiveness and professionalism in the Microsoft Office realm. For this purpose Fulcrum`s Training Division has also launched a two-day "Creating Professional Documentation in MS Word" offering and a one-day "Enhancing your Productivity using MS Outlook".
All training sessions are hands-on experiences, delivered by highly-skilled trainers with field experience in developing and deploying EPM solutions. Together with this "in-situation" experience, quality training material and practical exercises, learners are ensured the highest standard in training.
