Futurex 2006 abuzz with business

Johannesburg, 16 May 2006

The Futurex 2006 exhibition began this morning and runs until Friday.

It is touted as a meeting place for technology thought leaders and key business buyers. Exhibitors this year include industry players such as SAP, Telkom, Novell, the Department of Trade and Industry, and the Department of Communications. Various smaller companies and several new entrants to the IT market are also present.

The theme of the event is "managing the changing face of ICT", which will be discussed and explored at the conference on Thursday and Friday.

Key speakers include Reuben September, COO of Telkom; Ntsundeni Madzunya, CIO of the SA Post Office; and Microsoft`s developer and platforms group director, Danny Naidoo.

Futurex is again incorporating LinuxWorld, an event focusing on Linux and open source technology. This year, Equip joins the exhibition - a showcase featuring business equipment for small and medium enterprises.
