Hasmukh Gajjar has been appointed deputy CEO at JSE-listed Faritec Holdings.
Faritec, an IT managed services company, says Gajjar`s focus will be on developing the black economic empowerment and transformation framework for Faritec.
He will also assist in developing new business offerings and growing Faritec`s client base.
Gajjar joined Faritec as an executive director last year after Faritec concluded an empowerment deal with a consortium led by the J&J Group and union investment company Lesaka Holdings.
The deal involved the consortium acquiring a 30% stake in Faritec for R13.23 million.
Gajjar has been president of the Black Business Council and Black IT Forum, and a member of the ICT Charter task team, as well as various other bodies.
