Arabic Rappels, an online MMO game published by Game Power 7, will run a campaign in recognition of the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking on 26 June.
Game Power 7 will run a week-long drugs education and awareness event within the Arabic Rappelz game, from 30 June to 6 July.
Based on the original Korean game Rappelz, Arabic Rappelz has been localised and published in the Middle East and North Africa to be the first Arabic MMO (massively multiplayer online) game in the region.
Throughout the event period, educational messages will be announced to the players and special virtual prizes awarded.
The Dubai-based company says part of its corporate strategy is promoting human development values, through its virtual gaming world, to youth in the region.
General manager Fadi Mujahid explains: “We are dedicated to using our games and virtual worlds to promote human development issues, and fight social diseases among the young generation in our region. We extend our hands to organisations and institutions with similar interests to cooperate together in this regard.”
Game Power 7 says the event marks the expression of the company's determination to strengthen action and cooperation in achieving a society free of drug abuse.
