Games journalist kills wife, self

A former journalist for IGN, Ziff-Davis and Ultra Game Players has shot himself and his wife in an apparent murder-suicide, states CVG.

Jason Montes, 33, of Sacramento, was found dead by police at the home of his estranged wife in Concord, California on Sunday.

His wife Serena Montes, 25, was fatally wounded at the location.

PlayStation network gets updated

Unlike last week, this week's PSN update is a bit light as far as content is concerned, writes IGN.

No new games are available for download, but there is an adjustment to expansion pack content, as well as additional add-on to items for games like Guitar Hero, Rock Band and Buzz.

WipEout and F.E.A.R. 2 gain new demos, while videos for X-Files, Resistance: Retribution and Max Payne hit the PSN.

F.E.A.R. 2 demo available

Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment has revealed that the single player demo for F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin is available now for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, Games for Windows and the PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system, reports GameSpy.

The demo can be downloaded now on Xbox Live Marketplace for Xbox 360 and the PlayStation for the PlayStation 3.

Fans can visit www.whatisfear.com to download the Games for Windows version; the full game will ship to retailers in North America on 10 February.
