Avnic Trading, exclusive distributor of Garmin`s range of GPS, sonar and radar products, has unplugged its team from its desktop telephones using Plantronics wireless headsets.
John Gallacher, CEO of Avnic Trading, said: "We felt a clear need to free the team from being wired to their desks and researched the market extensively before deciding on Plantronics - we determined they were by far the best on the market for quality of sound and quality of manufacture."
Eleven headsets are in use in the Johannesburg head office and the KZN office by directors, senior managers and sales and support staff.
According to John Gallacher, Avnic is seeing benefits in convenience, with the freedom to move around the office while talking, cost savings through greater efficiency and being able to use both Skype and Telkom lines, and most important of all, being able to deliver better customer service.
"For example," he adds, "you can fetch a fax or locate a data sheet without having to put the customer on hold. We distribute products from the planet`s foremost GPS supplier, and believe that we need to offer corresponding high levels of service."
