Hitachi and Hitachi Data Systems demonstrated, for the second consecutive year, the greatest increase in storage management software revenue among the leading 10 vendors in the industry.
In the new Gartner Dataquest report*, Hitachi was identified as one of only three vendors in the top 10 to experience growth in software sales in a year when the overall storage management software market declined by 6%.
Nearly doubling its market share from 2001, Hitachi is currently the sixth largest vendor of storage management software.
Gartner ranks Hitachi the second largest vendor in the enterprise storage resource management segment, second in the device resource management software sub-segment and third largest in data replication software.
