Gartner's recently announced Magic Quadrant chart on Unix and NT Disk reveals wholly owned Seagate subsidiary, XIOtech, to be a "visionary" company. XIOtech is represented locally by Smart Storage Technologies (SmartStor).
Says Noel Northcott, executive director at SmartStor: "The announcement made at Gartner's conference described XIOtech as an organisation which continues to grow in the face of a declining industry and offers a proven virtualisation solution. The research group also mentioned the satisfaction of XIOtech's growing customer base with their SAN solutions."
The Magic Quadrant report positions XIOtech as having growing revenue, as well as building its own service organisation. Gartner also suggests that the organisation can improve scalability and throughput to remain competitive by launching its next-generation series as a follow-up to the success of the Magnitude, XIOtech's back-end virtualisation product.
