Gateway Communications has delivered one billion voice minutes over its networks since it acquired Link Africa in June 2005, the company says.
The company, which provides services to telecoms operators in Africa, says it has seen a 33% increase in data traffic in the second half of 2005.
"The acquisition of Link Africa has contributed substantially to the group`s service proposition and infrastructure," says Peter Gbedemah, Gateway Communications CEO.
Link Africa, a satellite voice and data traffic services provider, was purchased by Gateway for over $50 million from Celtel International.
Gbedemah says Gateway managed to integrate all Link Africa`s customers, network infrastructure and systems in seven months since the purchase was completed.
The company has offices in London, Johannesburg, Geneva, Cape Town and Brussels.
