Gestetner launches innovative new MFP

Gestetner, the total document solutions company, has introduced the first of its new generation of multifunctional products (MFPs) with the launch of the DSc224 and DSc232. These innovative products combine the best of both worlds for the general office user by offering the perfect combination of mono copying and printing speeds with the additional benefit of colour.

Richard Pinker, managing director of Gestetner SA says, "We know that the average office is finding an increasing need for colour documents, but it does not always make good financial sense to install a colour MFP. The DSc224 and DSc232 are the perfect solution for these workplaces as these products can produce black and white copies at the speed and cost of a mono device, while still offering colour capability when the need arises."

According to a study conducted in the United States in 2001, almost 70 percent of black-and-white copier users have a requirement for colour copying or printing. The DSc224 and DSc232 MFPs have been designed to meet the needs of general office users who have the occasional need for colour while also requiring the cost benefits of a mono printer.

The DSc224 copies and prints at speeds of 24ppm mono and 8ppm colour, and the DSc232 at 32ppm mono and 10ppm colour. The products have all the features of a technically advanced black and white MFP and can operate as a copier, printer, scanner or fax. Each supports both wireless and traditional cable network access to ensure convenience and flexibility in the office environment.

Additionally, the DSc224 and DSc232 offer the added benefit of full-colour scan to email. A colour or hand-written document can be scanned and then sent directly, in colour, to a recipient`s email address. This ensures better quality documents are sent and guarantees security, as only the intended recipient will be able to view the document, as opposed to the quality and security risks that surround sending a fax.
