Gestetner Tshwane aims high

Gestetner Tshwane, recently the centre of attention as celebrity Yvonne Chaka Chaka took the helm, is looking to double its resources and target as much government business as it can.

MD Brigette Reynolds noted in a recent interview with ITWeb: "A business doesn`t run on a name alone."

The company, with Chaka Chaka as CEO, aims to make skills development a priority and double its resources in the near future. As part of its new skills development programme, Gestetner Tshwane has made 267 e-learning courses available to staff. It also intends to grow its headcount by 30%.

"Our plan is also to increase visibility as far as clients are concerned and to register on all the government databases," says Reynolds.

"Now that the black economic empowerment is in place we are looking to secure as much government and parastatal work as we can."

Reynolds does not see the SMMEs emerging with the help of the ICT empowerment charter process as a threat to Gestetner`s market share.

"There will always be competition and in fact our vision is that our total market share will increase in the next year to two years, but in this industry you don`t expect to make a million overnight," she adds.

"We believe the groundwork and structure is in place and hopefully we can take out all the competition," adds Chaka Chaka.
