The Zone Computer Career Campus offers a unique career option in tertiary computer education, for post-Matric students.
Instead of individual commercial IT courses limited to one particular IT aspect or Vendor`s accreditation, The Zone`s curriculum offers the student an overview of the entire computer industry with a foundation in IT followed by one of two options for specialisation.
This tailored and innovative career path option has the aim of guiding students to choose their right path to an up-to-date, rounded, informed and practical accreditation in order to graduate in the field they are best at, and make them more rapidly marketable in the Job market.
The 1-year full-time and optional 1 year part-time curriculum, unique to The Zone, is structured as follows:
NBBF - Network Basics & Business Fundamentals Compulsory 6-month full-time curriculum:
- Hardware & Software Fundamentals
- Networking Principles
- Introduction to the Internet
- Business Fundamentals
- E-Commerce Fundamentals
- Office Software Support
- Introduction to Visual Basic
Followed by either:
MNE - Master Network Engineer First option: 6-month full-time (+ optional 1 year part-time) curriculum:
- Microsoft System Engineer - Cores
- Novell Administrator
- Linux Administrator
- Wide Area Network Administrator
- Microsoft Engineer - Electives
- Database Support
- Advanced E-Commerce
MID - Master Internet Developer Second option: 6-month full-time (+ optional 1 year part-time) curriculum:
- Development Principles - VB
- Development Principles - Databases
- Development Principles - Java
- WebMaster I - HTML
- WebMaster II - Animation
- Advanced E-Commerce
As well as a unique career plan, The Zone boasts a successful teaching methodology where instructor-lead lectures alternate between theory lecture-based classes one day, and hands-on practical classes the following day. Lectures are from Mondays to Fridays, with Fridays being reserved for one-on-one tutorials.
