Sierra Entertainment, a division of Vivendi Games, has used the original cast of the Ghostbusters films to star in the June release of Ghostbusters, the video game.
Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, and Ernie Hudson reunite after more than 20 years to battle supernatural threats in the game version of the film. Supporting the crew are the likes of Annie Potts, Brian Doyle Murray and William Atherton.
Martin Tremblay, president of Worldwide Studios for Sierra Entertainment, says: "Sierra Entertainment is extremely excited to not only deliver fans, old and new, this next chapter in the Ghostbusters universe, but to allow them inside the universe for the first time.
"Our collaboration alongside Terminal Reality and Red Fly Studios also includes working closely with the team at Sony Pictures Consumer Products. Together, we will create the ultimate Ghostbusters experience, full of the characters, ghosts and other paranormal creatures so many have come to adore over the years."
Sierra says Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis scripted the event-driven storyline for the video game.
Terminal Reality developed Ghostbusters the video game for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Windows PC. Red Fly Studios developed it for the PlayStation 2, Nintendo Wii and Nintendo DS versions.
