Gigabyte engineers world's first 80nm graphic accelerator

Johannesburg, 16 Nov 2006

For those of us not initiated into the world of techno-jargon, an 80 nanometer graphic accelerator card sounds as exciting as watching eight hours of Star Trek reruns from the early 90s.

However, if you are in the market for a new graphics card, Gigabyte's GV-RX195P256D-RH, which is being distributed locally by Rectron, is an impressive offering, and here's why.

Simply put, this 80nm card takes up less space, is capable of less resistance, contains more processors on a wafer, and features the ATI Radeon X1950 Pro with 36 pixel shader processors and the all new Compositing CrossFire Engine. All of this results in ultra-stable performance and blistering 3D graphic rendering.

The GV-RX195P256D-RH uses ultra-low ESR solid capacitors, which have a significantly increased lifespan in comparison to the liquid-based capacitors found on most boards. The card also comes equipped with a Zalman VF700 aluminium copper fan to deliver an optimally quiet thermal solution with outstanding overclocking performance.

In addition to providing support for plug-and-play technology to help eliminate the hassle of identifying the primary or slave graphic card, the GV-RX195P256D-RH features the ATI Avivo platform with H.264 playback to enhance the video and image display experience. This new card from Gigabyte also enables Dual-link support for high-resolution displays up to 2560x1600 and provides the video capability needed for the most robust HD gaming systems.
