Gigabyte Technology, in conjunction with official South African distributor Rectron, has released the GV-RX family of graphics accelerators that feature ATI`s native 16-lane PCI Express Visual Processing Units (VPUs).
The GV-RX80, GV-RX60 and GV-RX30 are all based on ATI`s newly introduced RADEON X800, RADEON X600 and RADEON X300 VPUs, allowing for more flexibility when choosing a graphics card.
"With the new Gigabyte GV-RX series, users have more choice, plus ATI`s RADEON series sets a new standard in graphics performance and visual realism, which is ideal for next-generation games and applications," comments Reon Coetzee, marketing manager of Rectron.
Again, the GV-RX family`s various series cater respectively for what Gigabyte terms "Expert", Performance" and "Mainstream" levels.
The GV-RX80 ("Expert") series, for example, is built on 0.13micron, low-k fabrication process technology for high levels of integration and superior operating clock speeds. Also, the "3Dc" image enhancement technology allows for higher resolution and detailed images.
The GV-RX60 ("Performance") and RX30 ("Mainstream") series both feature ATI`s SMARTSHADER 2.0 and SMOOTHVISION 2.1, which smoothes uneven edges and improves blurred images.
The entire GV-RX family also supports the latest versions of Gigabyte`s DirectX 9.0 and OpenGL shader technologies. The company has also bundled PowerDVD 5.0, 3D Album DE2.03 and PowerDirector3 ME (For VIVO version only), as well as three exciting full-version games - Count Strike - Condition Zero, SpellForce and Rainbow SIX3 - Raven Shield for added value.
