Rectron has released Gigabyte Technology`s flagship K8NNXP motherboard, which is based on the company`s "6 Dual Technology" and features NVIDIA`s nForce3 150 single chipset.
Now available to the South African channel, the K8NNXP is designed specifically for AMD`s recently released Athlon 64 processor.
The Athlon 64 processor offers high-speed features such an internal DDR memory controller, HyperTransport technology and a 64-bit computing platform.
Commenting on Gigabyte`s "6 Dual Technology", Reon Coetze, marketing manager of Rectron, comments that it significantly improves the motherboard`s system performance and stability.
"The K8NNXP`s DUAL RAID functionality, for example, includes Serial ATA RAID and ATA133 RAID that increases data performance access as well as provides greater storage capacity and security. The Dual Channel DDR400 supports high bandwidth for improved memory performance."
The K8NNXP`s also offers a DUAL LAN interface as well as support for the new IEEE 1394b standard (FireWire) and USB 2.0.
Other "6 Dual" technologies include the Dual Power System (DPS) that features a six phase power circuit design for system reliability and performance, and Dual Cooling that doubles platform cooling.
Lastly, the "6 Dual Technology" DualBIOS functionality provides the motherboard with a backup BIOS in order to repair the damaged BIOS in the case of, for example, a virus attack.
