Gigabyte Technology, together with South African distributor Rectron, has introduced South African users to one of the first high-performance SLI solutions for the Intel Pentium 4 platform.
The GA-8N-SLI Royal features the anticipated NVIDIA nForce 4 SLI Intel Edition chipset which supports multiple GPU applications at speeds of up to 3Gbps that harness the power and functionality of two SLI-ready PCI Express graphic cards.
Supporting the latest software utilities and operating systems, the1066MHz FSB LGA775 Intel Pentium 4 Processors together with DDR-2 667 memory enable the GA-8N-SLI Royal to benefit from maximum bandwidth between the North Bridge and other components where bottlenecks usually occur.
After extensive testing by Corsair Testing Labs, the Royal has passed memory certification with DDR2 675 Ultra Low Latency memory. Combining the GA-8N-SLI with Corsair`s TWIN2X1024A-5400UL memory assures compatibility as well as faster overall performance for the NVIDIA platform.

Gigabyte Natural Intelligence includes additional system security features with the Universal Plus Power System (U-Plus D.P.S) that extends the lifespan of power modules by keeping them cooler, moreover increasing the overall system reliability by even operating when one transistor has blown. This feature helps to enhance data protection and accessing, particularly for power users who place extreme demands on their PSUs.
Advanced NVIDIA RAID technology allows RAID 0 (Striping), RAID 1 (Mirroring), RAID 0+1 (Striping and Mirroring), and RAID 5 (Parity RAID) multi-disk designs to be created by the user for their protection or performance preferences. The RAID 5 function is interfaced by a Windows-based utility for ease of use, and supports drive roaming capability enabling drive removal from one controller to another without the loss of data.
The GA-8N-SLI Royal provides secure connectivity by combining NV Firewall together with Norton Internet Security to deliver protection against hackers, viruses and privacy infringements without sacrificing system performance. This is enabled through NVIDIA`s ActiveArmor hardware engine, which reduces the workload on the CPU during demanding security operations.
Furthermore, the GA-8N-SLI Royal features the latest in high-speed connectivity with Dual Gigabit Ethernet for simultaneous WAN and LAN connection speeds of up to 1.000Mbps as well as onboard Firewire (IEEE1394b) and USB 2.0 capabilities.
The GA-8N-SLI Royal is bundled with the GN-BTD02 Bluetooth wireless USB adapter, which enables compatibility with Bluetooth consumer products such as mobile phones, printers, PDAs, cameras and headsets for the ultimate versatility around the office or home.
