With the recent acquisition of DVTEL by FLIR Systems (FLIR), Graphic Image Technologies (GIT) has been appointed a full FLIR distributor. In addition to the distribution of the DVTEL range of products GIT is now able to offer the full range of solutions from FLIR including their 4K hi-image analytic cameras and a full range of thermal camera.
GIT is a specialist in mobile/remote CCTV, video analytics, thermal cameras, control room technologies and broadcast video compression. Through its original distribution agreement with DVTEL, GIT was also able to offer CCTV solutions over IP, Megapixel cameras and video analytics over both analogue and IP or hybrid platforms.
Says Laurence Smith, Executive at GIT: "The acquisition of DVTEL also strengthens GIT's position to extend the FLIR product offering to existing and new customers. The FLIR product offering also expands our capacity to augment our end-to-end security solutions to our customers."
FLIR's advanced thermal imaging and threat detection systems are used for a wide variety of imaging, thermography, and security applications. These include airborne and ground-based surveillance, condition monitoring, research and development, manufacturing process control, search and rescue, navigation, transportation safety, border and maritime patrol and environmental monitoring.
At the time of the acquisition, Andy Teich, President and CEO of FLIR said: "FLIR's strong position in thermal imaging together with DVTEL's extensive video analytics and VMS capability will position us well to offer differentiated and highly accurate perimeter security solutions for the upper corner of our Security segment's product value ladder.
DVTEL's professional-grade security software and hardware also fit well with FLIR's strategy to offer security solutions in the enterprise and infrastructure segments of the security market, he said.
Strengthening resellers
GIT will now also offer training to FLIR resellers who are adding DVTEL products to their offering, assisting them to scope, design, implement, support and maintain DVTEL products.
The training includes the DVTEL Latitude Certification Training, which is aimed at installers, service technicians, application engineers and users of the DVTEL security products.
The aim of the course is to provide participants with the skills to install configure and operate DVTEL's latitude network video management system (NVMS), including servers, client workstations and associated hardware, he says. The training also covers troubleshooting procedures and techniques.
GIT is an authorised distributor of Flir/Dvtel, SerVision, Harmonic, Playbox, Astro, Optibase, TVU and Actus products with a client footprint across the African continent.
