Giving back to the community

Johannesburg, 30 Aug 2007

Reagola has committed to developing the youth of our country by sponsoring local sports clubs and youth programmes. Sport by its very nature encourages teamwork and discipline, thereby minimising the potential for unsocial behaviour.

Chess: Mitchell's Plain Chess Club has been in existence for 25 years and serves a community in excess of a million people. Sadly, the club has not been able to get sponsorship, thereby preventing the expansion of chess into the community.

Reagola has committed to assisting the Chess Club by sponsoring events that will increase youth participation and development. With a resource pool exceeding a million people, the goal is to have South Africa grow some Chess grandmasters from this rich source.

Table Tennis: Reagola has sponsored Bernavin April in many table tennis tournaments for the handicapped.

Ballroom Dancing/Dance Sport: Reagola sponsored Marilyn to attend the World Dance championships in the Ukraine. Marilyn did South Africa proud by coming in the top 10 in the world.

Red Cross: Reagola supported the Red Cross by purchasing an incubator in 2006 during a telethon run by a local radio station, P4, now called Heart 104.9

Salesians: Reagola supports Salesians and has donated computers to this NGO. In 2006, we provided the street children of Cape Town a Christmas party, with the aid of Salesians. We have also employed a number of people who graduated from this organisation's training programs.
