In March, Axiz kicked off the first of what will become quarterly channel events, with its debut Technology Leadership Council (TLC) session. Geared around the concept of providing unbiased and informative sessions around technology and trends to its channel partners, the first series of TLCs aims to cover a broad range of topics around the server room environment.
The first session, held at Axiz on 22 March, started with two plenaries, Intel discussing server CPUs followed by Microsoft discussing the x64 Windows Server operating systems, before splitting into three tracks, which partners could attend as per their specific business focus and interests. Topics covered in the break-out tracks at the first event included wireless technology, core LAN networking, storage solutions, Microsoft Vista, CRM and traffic management.
Says Axiz Enterprise category manager Andrew Soddy, who arranged the event: "We received fabulous feedback from everyone that attended, supporting our idea that bringing technology information to the channel is vital. The events will all follow the same format, providing a full day of presentations, workshops and a great showcase of products to look at."
The next TLC event is scheduled for the end of May, and, says Soddy, "will be focused around consolidation of the server environment and the centralisation of servers and storage in the data centre, because we believe centralisation and consolidation in server rooms are a key industry trend that many of our partners are involved with".
Some of the technologies to be covered will be blade servers and server computing, storage infrastructure and the complementing products that are associated with them.
"Running concurrently will be a showcase of Axiz products to allow customers that come through to Axiz to view some of the ranges that are available," says Soddy. "The event will follow a similar format to the previous technology council, with plenary sessions follow by multiple break-out tracks. These tracks will be separated into technical workshop tracks or sales tracks to allow our partners to choose the best fit for them.
"There will be prizes and lucky draws throughout the day," he adds. "And the Axiz product showcase will be much larger and along the same lines as the showcase demonstrated at Axiz mobility day.
"We encourage our partners to come through and attend the Technology Leadership Council. As well as fulfilling its key objective of providing detailed technology information from a variety of vendors and partners, the event will also afford attendees the opportunity to network with vendors, Axiz and other members of the Technology Council," he concludes.
