SAP UK Ltd has announced winning the GlaxoWellcome PLC contract for the priming and implementing of SAP R/3 into all of the pharmaceutical company`s 14 US manufacturing supply sites. SAP R/3 will eventually be rolled out to the total 56 manufacturing sites world-wide.
The contract, valued at approximately 16 million pounds Sterling for software and services, represents a strategically significant partnership for both companies. SAP was selected due to the ability to demonstrate product strength and commitment to the pharmaceutical industry, including FDA (Food and Drug Administration), Year 2000 and Euro compliance.
GlaxoWellcome has chosen SAP to replace the company`s original selection of SSA`s BPCS throughout its manufacturing sites world-wide, and PeopleSoft for their UK financials.
