Glenayre Technologies, a global messaging solutions and services provider, says it has had a year of "unparalleled growth across its EMEA region".
Glenayre Messaging`s growth in EMEA is part of the global third quarter 2005 results announced last week, which show that revenue from international business in the third quarter accounted for 35% of Messaging`s total revenue.
Glenayre Messaging, a division of Glenayre Technologies that has been providing carrier-grade messaging solutions for more than 20 years, recently announced global year-over-year revenue growth of 41% for the third quarter of 2005.
"In the last few years Glenayre took the bold step to invest in the future and be ready for a re-emergence that would need exciting applications to encourage users to try and buy new services," says Nigel Waller, Glenayre`s London-based VP of international sales for the Messaging business.
"We now have a solution in the Versera Intelligent Communications Environment (Versera ICE) that enables new services, like Video Mail, to be added and deployed quickly into the market.
"To meet the increasing demand for Glenayre`s messaging solutions, we have opened new offices throughout the EMEA and Asia Pacific regions, and have increased our staff with additional experienced sales and support talent," says Waller.
In February MTN awarded Glenayre Technologies contracts totalling in excess of $7M to provide a next generation messaging solution for its mobile network in South Africa. MTN said it would use Versera ICE to provide subscribers with voice mail and advanced messaging capabilities. The contracts included $5m for equipment to be deployed in 2005, while the remaining $2m was set for a multiyear services and support agreement.
