Glik's updates retail IT systems
Glik's has selected the Epicor Retail software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution to provide its Midwest retail locations with software and hosting infrastructure and services, writes Fibre2fashion.
This is to help drive improved efficiencies and processes throughout its retail operations.
The Epicor Retail SaaS solution, which delivers Epicor's store, merchandising, planning, audit & operations management and CRM modules, was chosen to support the company's ongoing expansion, which averages four to six new store openings each year. To further drive efficiencies, Glik's is also leveraging electronic data interchange.
Forum unveils retail initiative
The WiMax Forum has unveiled a new retail plan aimed at expanding the number of WiMax devices worldwide and reducing internal operator testing costs, reports Fierce Wireless.
The plan, called the Open Retail Initiative, entails opening certification labs in the US, Spain and in parts of Asia to reduce the costs of operator interoperability testing.
It also aims to increase the number of devices--sold through either direct or retail sales channels--that can be activated over the air by consumers on the networks of participating WiMax operators.
Tech connects consumers, retailers
La Jolla, California-based Web marketing company Clarinova has created software called Front Window, which creates search engine optimised Web sites that guide consumers to local retailers who carry the specific brands they are searching for, says Trans World Business.
The technology is already being used by Sanuk and has added hundreds of retailer microsites online.
This in turn helps consumers find local shops that will have the Sanuk product they are looking for, according to a press release from Clarinova.
