Global 360 pursues new opportunities in Africa

Johannesburg, 24 May 2006

Global 360, the leading provider of business process management and optimisation solutions, has extended its footprint in Africa to take advantage of major new opportunities being created on the continent.

"There is substantial investment going into Africa at the moment," says Jean Moncrieff of Global 360's South African partner Emerge Africa. "According to the UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), FDI grew from $18.7bn in 2004 to $29 billion in 2005 - a 55% increase. Africa was the only continent without a formal Global 360 footprint and the time is right for this expression of confidence."

Moncrieff adds that African organisations, both in the public and in the private sectors, still have a lot to gain from optimising their business processes. "A lot of companies and government entities are still very silo-oriented environments," he explains. "In this environment people know how to perform specific tasks but have very little focus on the overall process; if one key person is away from the office things stop happening. There's great value to be unlocked by moving to a process oriented environment - and we have the experience and tools that enable our customers to do this. Business process management as a discipline has really come of age."

As Global 360's master value-added reseller in Africa, Emerge Africa will work closely with partners both in South Africa and the rest of the continent. Together with a network of local partners, who have already introduced Global 360 solutions to government, financial institutions and insurance companies, Emerge Africa will continue to strengthen the Global 360 stronghold in South Africa.

Global 360 was named by Gartner in November as the fastest-growing business process management software company in the world. The company's entry into the African market is marked by an aggressive pricing strategy: "We've formulated what we believe to be an extremely aggressive pricing model for the African market," says Moncrieff. We're making a very firm commitment to the African continent because of the potential we see here."

"We are excited about our joint venture with Emerge Africa," says Scott Winzeler, Vice President and General Manager EMEA for Global 360. "We have come to know Emerge Africa as a partner with a highly dedicated, experienced specialist workforce. Their compact structure allows them to work quickly, be flexible and maintain close contact with the end user."
