EMC^2, the world's largest provider of data storage systems, recently announced the (South) African winners of their Partner Awards of 2015.
EMC Corporation (EMC^2) is a global leader in data storage, information security and cloud computing. The company has over 70 000 employees and is headquartered in the United States. Country Manager for EMC^2 Southern Africa Jonas Bogoshi said the company took the necessary steps to ensure that winners were chosen based on accurate data sets. "We looked at facts and based it on numbers to make it a fair and subjective selection of the winners.
"By no means are these the only outstanding partners. All our Growth and Focus Partners really matured in terms of skill set, technical ability and relevance in terms of the EMC product portfolio."
Disti Award: Jaco Heuer, Axiz Workgroup
The Disti Award was based on four criteria, namely overall revenue; Key Performance Objectives met (sales enablement and accreditations, Growth Partner enablement, marketing initiatives and demo program drive); entry level units sold and incremental revenue contribution. Axiz Workgroup is South Africa's leading IT infrastructure and software distributor and a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Pinnacle Holdings Group of Companies. The company footprint stretches across most South African provinces and various other African countries.
Highest revenue award: Steven Green, Dimension Data
Bogoshi said this partner demonstrated consistent revenue growth and managed to expand their EMC business in what was a very tough and challenging year. Dimension Data's overall revenue achieved was the highest among all partners. Dimension Data is a wholly-owned subsidiary of NTT Group and employs over 31 000 employees. It has over 6 000 clients in 58 countries and in all major industry verticals. Furthermore, the company serves 72% of the Fortune 100 companies. The EMC^2 award will be added to over 50 client, vendor, and industry awards Dimension Data received in 2014.
Biggest incremental revenue contribution: Bertus van Heerden, Business Connection
Bogoshi says one of EMC^2's true measures of success is the growth and contribution of incremental revenue, both to the partner and EMC^2."It is a good measure of how the partners are focused on driving new revenue and technology streams. This measure going forward will become more important as we move through what is set to be a tough year." Business Connection managed to increase its growth in incremental business by 33% of overall business. The company is one of the largest ICT services providers in Africa, when measured by turnover, assets under management and staff complement. It employs 7 000 people across the UK, Africa and Dubai.
