Amadeus GTD Southern Africa (Pty) Ltd has entered into a strategic alliance with network integration and infrastructure management specialist, Integr8 IT, in a move that will enhance its services and entrench its leverage in the growing South African market.
Operating as the local national marketing company (NMC) for Amadeus, a leading global distribution system (GDS) that provides marketing, distribution and IT services to the travel industry worldwide, Amadeus Southern Africa sales and marketing manager, Peter Long, refers to the company`s three complementary business lines, namely travel distribution, information technology services and its e-commerce business unit.
"We`re the fastest growing GDS in SA and have been operational here since May 1997, registering as a Pty Ltd in 2003," he says, referring to the increasing necessity to align with a local IT company.
States Robert Sussman, Integr8 IT joint-MD: "Amadeus Southern Africa has been looking for some time to align itself with a partner who understands the local culture and economics as well as the converging dynamics of travel, business and IT."
The marketing alliance with Integr8 IT provides Amadeus Southern Africa with direct access to Integr8 IT`s Information Technology Information Library (ITIL)-based call centre, considered to be the `nerve centre` within Integr8 IT`s operation.
Says Sussman: "The Integr8 IT strategy and focus within this market is to be the IT travel guide from a networking infrastructure perspective. A key short-term objective is to migrate and align ourselves correctly with Amadeus in terms of technology, process and procedure, enabling us to build together on projects and site installations. We look forward to playing an active role in strengthening the alliance and adding value to the local market."
The alliance will be marketed extensively through road shows and multimedia campaigns.
