Global Trader to visit the Eastern Cape

Johannesburg, 15 Jul 2005

Want to be exposed to leading local and international financial markets and sell financial instruments without owning them? Global Trader, the pioneering South African born international financial institution, will be hosting two free seminars on Spread and CFD trading, in East London and Port Elizabeth from 19-20 July.

Founded in South Africa in 2000, Global Trader has developed a global reach into Europe, North America and Asia, and, along with South Africa and the UK, enjoys a physical presence in Canada, Ireland and Thailand. The company is one of South Africa`s leading online financial services companies and also the most active online broker, conducting over 300,000 trades per year, worth over US$5 billion per annum, for clients in 26 countries.

Recently awarded a full securities trading license by the UK`s Financial Services Authority, Global Trader, now has the means to underwrite and act as an agent or broker in the UK market for Contracts for Difference (CFDs) and Spread Trades, whilst also opening the doors to a wide net of organisations and individuals who prefer to or must invest with fully regulated financial services companies.

Spread Trading, a derivative product offered by Global Trader, is one of the key trading tools for an estimated 100 000 Spread Trading market professionals. Global Trader has one of the fastest and most responsive Spread Trading platforms in the world, designed and built by their in-house trading and technology teams.

"With Spread Trading you never take ownership of the stock or other financial instrument you are trading. You are simply trading the price movement of the stock (or bond, currency, commodity etc.) directly. This makes the trading environment quicker and more exciting without having to invest a large amount of cash at the start" says Managing Director of the South African based branch, Charles Savage.

In addition to Spread Trading, Global Trader launched South Africa`s most comprehensive service in CFD trading. CFD`s are in effect a 'virtual trade`, in that you gain complete access to the price movements in the stock without actually having to take ownership of the underlying asset, which also means you pay no MST, saving 0.25% on every trade. In essence, they are financial instruments that mirror the movements of the underlying stock, making them the perfect tool for both speculation and hedging.

"This service suits mid-to-high net worth active traders and institutional clients alike who want the fastest and most efficient access directly into the market and want to use CFDs to maximise their trading opportunities in the South African equity market. No other broker can match us," Savage said.

Global Trader has a free simulated platform where investors can familiarise themselves with the platform and the products. This is accessed via their website: www.gt247.com
