Centurion-based software developer GlobeTOM announced today that it has signed up with MySQL as OEM developer.
“This step is a major advance in formalising our relationship with Sun Microsystems' MySQL database technology,” said Philip Stander, MD of GlobeTOM.
“We decided to start investing in MySQL as a database technology for our specialised telecommunications industry solutions and have been actively engineering real-time applications using MySQL as underlying database engine.”
“We have done an in-depth analysis of the MySQL database technology and found the variety of database storage engines, ease of administration and ease of application data integration delivered by its application programming interfaces particularly attractive,” said Dallas Blackett, Principal Software Engineer at GlobeTOM.
GlobeTOM announced it is busy with key initiatives in partnership with leading market players that should start seeing deployment of its own telco-grade solutions that will be based on the MySQL database engine.
“We are targeting tier two network operators with extremely agile and cost-effective platforms in the fulfilment, assurance and billing space without compromising service levels.
