GoldMine 4.0 updated for Outlook PDA synchronisation

Johannesburg, 04 Oct 1999

GoldMine Software, a company owned by JSE-listed Ixchange, has announced that it has added a built-in Personal Assistant (PDA), Windows CE and Outlook synchronisation engine to its family of solutions for sales and marketing teams.

The GoldMine 4.0 update is a free upgrade to current users of GoldMine and available for download via NetUpdate. "The Windows CE, PDA line of products and Microsoft Outlook synchronisation provides GoldMine users the convenience of transferring appointments, schedules and contact information any time, anywhere, with virtually anyone," says Johan Botha, GM of Ixchange`s GoldMine division.

In addition to the synchronising functionality, the new GoldMine synchronisation code has been optimised to speed synchronisation between GoldMine and GoldSync (a communications server that allows users to exchange between multiple sites) by as much as ten times faster than previously possible.

A refined filter-builder now creates queries on an SQL back-end server and provides faster performance for building groups based on filters.
