Google Earth upgraded
Google has released an updated version of Google Earth, which incorporates a more seamless Street View experience and adds 3D trees, states PC Mag.
Google added Street View to Google Earth in 2008, but to see the Street View imagery, users would have to click on a camera icon layered over the Google Earth imagery. Now, Street View is fully integrated with the product, so users can zoom in and see 360-degree, street-level images automatically.
Pegman, the orange icon used to navigate Street View, is also now docked alongside the Google Earth navigation controls.
Netgear delivers wireless 3D HD
Netgear has unveiled the networking kit which claims to stream judder-free 1 080p 3D video wirelessly, says Smarthouse.
According to the company, the Netgear 3DHD Wireless Home Theatre Networking Kit with Netgear 3DHD Wireless technology lets you transmit '3DHD streams between rooms and even between floors.' It also claims to transmit multiple HD video streams, such as the two simultaneous HD video streams required for 3D movies and TV.
Netgear Australia and New Zealand's director of Consumer Channels, Brad Little says: "We've seen a very healthy adoption rate for Internet televisions here in Australia during 2010 and, no doubt, this will continue into the busy Christmas season.”
Samsung adopts Dialog Semiconductor
Dialog Semiconductor, a provider of power management semiconductor solutions, says its audio codec IC has been adopted by Samsung Electronics, writes Business Wire.
This is to deliver the highest level of audio performance in its recently released MP3 player.
Important features in the selection by Samsung were that the device consumes the industry's absolute lowest quiescent headphone playback power consumption of 2.5MW and only 5MW operating power under listening conditions.
