California County replaces SAP system
Officials in Marin County, California, replaced the ailing SAP enterprise resource planning system, which costs less than fixing widespread problems with the software, according to officials, Reuters writes.
The system is the subject of a lawsuit Marin County filed against system integrator Deloitte Consulting earlier this year.
Deloitte used the project as "a trial-and-error training ground" for inexperienced employees, and the result was a "costly computer system far worse than the legacy systems it was intended to replace," according to the county's complaint.
Information misinterpreted
The recently introduced Information Systems Crime Law was misinterpreted by the press, says Jordan minister of Information and Communications Technology Marwan Juma, according to Jordan Times.
"The law is meant to protect everyone. It is meant to protect news Web sites also,” the minister said.
“Reputable news Web sites should have rules and conditions, why would they be afraid of such a law?” Juma remarked.
