Virgin Media customers in London and the South East have been rocked by Internet outages that cut them off from big sites, including Wikipedia, Yahoo and the Guardian yesterday, reveals The Register.
An error message spotted on the Virgin service page says the problems will continue until Tuesday morning.
One user, Glenn, told The Register: “Virgin Media has had massive routing issues this weekend. Customer services' voice message says it is a national problem. Many Web sites cannot be accessed without going through a proxy. It's being talked about on forums, which most people cannot access.”

Xhead = HP workers get £15 500 minimum salary
Hewlett-Packard (HP) workers, and members of the Public and Commercial Services Union (PCS) working on several big UK government contracts such as those with the Ministry of Defence and the Department for Work and Pensions, have voted to accept a pay offer from HP guaranteeing a minimum salary of £15 500, says Computing.co.uk.
The acceptance of the pay offer will see workers of government contracts awarded a minimum rise of 2.5% this year, with a rise of the same amount offered again in February 2012.
The deal will see a minimum salary of £15 500, although some types of staff will receive higher minimum salaries.
