GP organisers ensure business continuity
A series of road closures affecting Marina Centre in Singapore will take place from 22 to 28 September to facilitate the setting up and dismantling of the Singapore FIA formula one race infrastructure, says The Gov Monitor.
The road closures will be implemented in phases to minimise disruption to the public.
To ensure business continuity for establishments in the Marina Centre area, a limited number of pre-assigned passes have been given to the stakeholders to allow them access to their buildings via roads with restricted access control.
Cloud can up productivity
Companies that adopt cloud computing services will be in a better position to uphold productivity than those with servers based onsite, writes Comms-Express.
This is the view of Rob Lovell, chief executive of cloud services provider ThinkGrid, who says strikes on the London Underground network demonstrate the business benefits of the technology.
He pointed out that when staff is unable to get to the office, cloud computing enables them to work remotely, ensuring business continuity.
Backup My Info! expands support
Backup My Info! (BUMI), a provider of online backup and recovery solutions for small and medium enterprises has expanded operating system and application support for its fully-managed service, states TMC Net.
The new version of the 'agentless' backup solution from BUMI, the company claims, helps organisations cope with the growth of business-critical data deployed across several applications and complex, multi-platform network environments.
Also BUMI says, it can backup and restore VMware environments, as well as remote desktops and laptops not connected to an organisation's network making it suitable for branch offices, teleworking professionals and also sales and field service personnel, say company sources.
