Information and communications technology (ICT) specialist Grintek Telecom now offers its customers a wider product range of telecommunications solutions as a result of the recent acquisition of Clarent Corporation's technology by Verso Technologies.
Verso, an integrated communications solutions company based in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, acquired Clarent's entire line of telecommunications technology in February 2003. Grintek Telecom has been a distributor of Clarent VOIP products and technologies into Africa since 2000.
Says Delio Senatore, Grintek Telecom group executive sales and marketing: "The acquisition of Clarent by Verso enables Grintek Telecom to offer our customers a much broader suite of telecommunications solutions to long distance and local carriers and to enterprise customers as well. We have been the largest worldwide distributor for Verso's Clarent softswitch products and are now ready to distribute Verso's enterprise products as well."

Verso's Clarent product line includes voice over Internet Protocol (VOIP) solutions for next-generation networks and enterprise convergent solutions. Key products include next-generation switching and call control software, high-density media gateways, multi-service access devices, signalling and announcement servers, network management systems and high demand telephony applications based on packet-switched technology.
