Goal Technology Solutions (Pty) Ltd (GTS) is an all inclusive Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) solutions provider focusing on delivering value added services over dedicated GTS networks mainly to controlled environments and communities by combining a hybrid of technologies such as broadband Power Line Communications (PLC) and fibre optics. On a recent interview in the Financial Mail newspaper on October 3rd 2008, Mr Adrian Maquire of GTS announced that GTS will be launching a Pay TV offering that it will be the first in South Africa.
This is WMD's Digital Direct To Home pay Television service (DDTH-Pay TV). It will be available on the GTS Network as of January 15th 2009 and soon after that to any ADSL / Broadband user either directly via GTS or one of GTS's channel partners. WMD, Secure Media and NexTVision have partnered to provide the “Download and Save” turn key solution with wireless media players; DRM management control and Major Theatrical Studio movies for the South African consumers.
