Guangdong Software Park to use Unicenter and eTRUST

Industry-Leading Management and Security Solutions Improve System Reliability While Reducing Cost and Complexity at Innovative Business Incubator

Computer Associates International, Inc. (CA) today announced that Guangdong Software Park, a key business technology incubator endorsed by China`s Ministry of Science and Technology, has selected CA`s industry-leading Unicenter and eTrust management solutions to boost the stability and security of its diverse IT systems, reduce the cost and complexity of its IT operations, and better fulfill its mission of supporting the growth of new software ventures.

One of the Software Park`s primary missions is to provide a secure and reliable IT environment to support the requirements of the park`s occupants. CA`s powerful, scalable system and security management solutions were selected to complement the park`s robust hardware platform, which includes equipment from Sun and Cisco. The Software Park`s administrators can now use Unicenter and eTrust to proactively monitor the health and performance of these resources and prevent unauthorized access or other malicious activities.

One of the park`s major challenges involved the consistent management and maintenance of the IT devices scattered across its dynamic and complex infrastructure. The advanced visualization capabilities of Unicenter are proving to be instrumental in meeting this challenge, allowing the Software Park to reduce the costs associated with administering its extensive computing environment.

Another significant challenge was being able to identify and resolve network performance issues before they impacted end-users` productivity. To accomplish this, the Software Park selected both Unicenter Advanced Network Operations and Unicenter Performance Management to provide its IT staff with a complete picture of the health and performance of all network components. These Unicenter solutions provide an intuitive visual representation of critical performance metrics, enabling a small IT staff to quickly correct degradations across a wide, diverse network environment.

To complement its investment in Unicenter network management solutions, the Software Park also deployed Unicenter Database Performance Management solutions.
